Upstream welcomes files submitted as jpegs, Gif or png files. All files must be high resolution (300 ppi) and at least 1500 pixels on the longest side. Maximum file size should not exceed 8MB. Please do not watermark your files.

Entry Fee: $45.00 for a minimum of 3 pieces; $4.00 additional for each entry thereafter up to a maximum of 8 pieces ($65). All pieces must be for sale. The gallery will retain a commission of 30% on all sales.

Transformations: Paper is one of the most malleable, flexible substrates artists can use. It lends itself to experimentation, play, dimensionality, formal rigor and loose abstraction. Moreover, it’s cost effective and comes in infinite varieties. Thus, it is ideal for exploring and changing one’s work or vocabulary. Upstream Gallery invites artists to show us work on paper that epitomizes these qualities in one way or another. Representational and abstract styles are both welcomed. Drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture are all welcome for this juried show.
Eligible Work: Artists are invited to submit 2-D or 3-D work that is primarily paper based and made by hand, not digitally. Successful entries will demonstrate clear thematic relationships among two or more pieces. Photography is not eligible for this exhibition; we hold a separate show for photographic work.
Specifications: All work must be suitably framed. Maximum framed size may not exceed 30 x 40 inches. Accepted pieces must be wired for hanging. The gallery reserves the right to reject poorly presented pieces.

Artist notification within the week following the application deadline.
Friday, June 26th, 2026: All shipped work must be received no later than 5:00pm.
Monday, June 29th, 2026: Delivery of artwork to gallery by local artists, 10:00am 2:00pm.
Thursday, July 2, 2026: Opening day of exhibition, 12:30pm-5:30pm.
Sunday, July 5th, 2026: Opening reception, 2:00pm-5:00pm.
Sunday, July 19th, 2026: Last day of exhibition, 12:30pm-5:30pm.
Monday, July 20th, 2026: Local artists pick up work from gallery, 10:00am-3:00pm.
